First, get the decoration ingredients ready - with a cat sniffing everything around if possible :) -
All the stuff for decoration is from Tesco. Found similar things in Migros in Ankara as well.
This is the recipe. I've found it on a website, tested it a few times with different flavours (banana mash, cherries, walnuts, coconut, almond). Whatever you put in it works.
4 eggs
1/2 glass of sunflower oil
1/2 glass of milk
1/2 glass of desiccated coconut
1/2 glass of chocolate chips
2 glasses of flour
1 glass of sugar
a packet of baking powder
Preheat the oven to 170, gas mark 5.
Whisk the eggs with sugar till the mixture is mousse-like. Add other ingredients and give it a good whisk.
(Toss the chocolate chips with flour before you add them in to avoid chocolate melting.)
Pour the mixture in cupcake cases, 1 tablespoon each. If you put more, they will rise out of the cases and you won't be able to decorate.
Place the cases in the tin. put it in the oven and watch them grow in 15 to 20 minutes!
The fun part is yet to come. Preparing your cream! It can be ready cream like the squirty cream you can find in tescos or krem santi in migros.
Divide the cream into cups and colour them. We had three food colours: red, green and yellow. You will most probably have the instructions on their labels, but if not, it's one teaspoonful of each. Red was the brightest, so would recommend it. Then, put it into the "cream squeeze thingy" - or whatever its name is:) - and squeeze it on your cakes.
And the rest is your imagination. Basak did a very good job decorating ours. I gave it a try but they ended up in disaster, they were still edible but were not appealing to the eye. You can tell from the pic which ones I ruined :)
afiyet olsun! :)

I'm back..
hi there bloggy,
sorry for abandoning you for so long. it's been quite a long time since I've written here. have been doing loads lately. been to turkey for a couple of weeks and now I'm all sorted! still have some health issues but I'm ok, suffer from coach potato-ness now :) well at least I'm reading stuff, thanks god for that. what would life be like with just ultimate big brother and facebook if i didn't read?
aaand I've got a new bike yaaaay! u know the old one got stolen, was so sad when I couldnt find it where i left. but now I've got a new one! as soon as I adjust the saddle, I'm back on the road yeah baby!! :) hate waiting on the bus, it's so unpredictable, might take ages to get one. town centre is just 15 mins on my bike (might even be faster on a new bike hihi), bus takes more than 30 mins! once you get used to the rain, it's more comfy than bus. but i'm all geared up with my waterproof top & bottom, so no worries there:)
went to notting hill festival in london today, was great fun. will put up the pics soon.
made some great looking cupcakes with my sister in ankara, pics and the recipe will follow carnival pics.
miss ankara already. but will be back in three months for a very very very special event hehe.so i'm soooo happy :)
